UFC superstar Conor McGregor is being sued for sexual battery allegedly committed during the 2023 NBA Finals in Miami. An unidentified woman reportedly filed the lawsuit against McGregor, alleging that he assaulted her in a VIP section of the Kaseya Center during Game 4 between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets.
It is reported that the incident happened on June 9, 2023, when the plaintiff and other celebrities were attending a high-profile game. She claims that McGregor forcibly kissed her and attempted to sexually assault her in the private arena area.
The woman alleged in court that the physical strength that overpowered her was McGregor. She also revealed that arena security personnel aided him by separating her friends from her, then told her to go find their friend who turned out to be McGregor.
Sued with The Miami Heat, and Kaseya Center included in the charge of negligence towards the lack of a safe venue for its audiences.
Through his lawyers, McGregor has since denied the allegations, labeling them “false and baseless.” McGregor’s representatives then issued a statement insisting that McGregor would vigorously defend himself against such claims.
“The client denies all wrongdoing. He is still confident justice will prevail, and these baseless allegations will be dismissed,” it read.
According to the local law enforcement authorities, there is an investigation into the matter. Yet there are no criminal charges have been filed so far. However, this lawsuit renews the scrutiny that had been done on McGregor regarding a number of legal issues it had previously encountered.
