Twitter Inc. let go at least 200 employees, or approximately 10% of its workforce, the New York Times reported late on Sunday, in its recent effort at downsizing since Elon Musk acquired the micro-blogging site last October.

The NYT reported that the layoffs on Saturday night affected product managers, data scientists and engineers who worked on machine learning and site reliability, which helps keep Twitter’s various features online, naming people familiar with the matter.

Twitter refused to instantly comment on the matter, according to Reuters.

According to Musk, the company had around 2,300 active employees in the previous month.

The most recent layoffs come on the heels of a mass layoff in early November, when Twitter put down around 3,700 of its employees in a cost-cutting measure by Musk, who obtained the company for $44 billion.

Musk stated in November that the service was enduring a “massive drop in revenue” as brands cut back because of worries about content moderation.

The Information reported earlier in the day that the social networking site laid off numerous staff members on Saturday in order to offset a drop in revenue.
