On April 1, 2025, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn hosted the McDonald’s All American Boys Game, featuring the nation’s finest high school basketball players. The West defeated the East 105-92 to snap a six-year losing streak. Darryn Peterson, one of the nation’s top guards at Prolific Prep and Kansas-bound, paced the West with 18 points and shared co-Most Valuable Player honors.

Peterson’s effort was supplemented by Alijah Arenas, son of the former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, who added importantly to the West’s cushion late in the third quarter. Highly regarded recruit A.J. Dybantsa, who has committed to BYU, contributed 13 points to his team’s effort, while Niko Bundalo, a signee with Washington, added 12 points.

On the East side, Cameron Boozer, the son of former NBA player Carlos Boozer and ranked third in the 2025 class, matched Peterson’s 18 points and shared the co-MVP title. Isiah Harwell, who will be playing for Houston, scored 16 points, and Arkansas signee Darius Acuff Jr. added 12 points.

The game included several players who were going to top college programs. Duke gained commitments from the Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden, and Nikolas Khamenia of the West team. The University of Connecticut was represented by three players: guards Braylon Mullins and Darius Adams, along with center Eric Reibe.

This yearly gathering not only celebrates individual abilities but also gives an indication of college basketball’s future, as these players get set to leave an impact at the next level.
