Ross was in Mill Valley, California, for his one-man show, “Take a Banana for the Ride,” at the Throckmorton Theatre. After an opening night, he and his band stopped at a local restaurant to celebrate. There, they were served burrata ice cream, an unusual dessert that the owner of the establishment presented.
But the party took a turn when Ross started showing signs of an allergic reaction. His lips swelled up quite a bit, leading to a prompt trip to the emergency room at MarinHealth Medical Center. Ross called the experience his “first allergic reaction ever,” citing the irony considering his adventurous eating ways.
Though startled by the encounter, Ross didn’t lose his usual humor. He thanked medical professionals for their attention and tongue-in-cheek attitude throughout the treatment. Ross also reassured his public that he wouldn’t allow the ordeal to interrupt his tour itinerary, claiming he’d return to the stage for his subsequent show.
Ross’s social media update got responses from his fellow performers and admirers. NSYNC member Joey Fatone teased Ross’s puffed-up look by comparing it to the Sloth character from “The Goonies,” and Kelly Rizzo, wife of late actor Bob Saget, sent well-wishes and concern.
Following the joke, Brady was seen pulling Ross aside and was heard on the microphone telling him, “Don’t say that s— again,” which the comedian laughed off.
