Mini has introduced a pair of new 2025 John Cooper Works, or JCW, Cooper Hatchback and Cooper Convertible models for buyers in the U.S. Both models are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that generates 228 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.

The Hatchback boasts 45 lb-ft more than the outgoing model matched with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Hatchback accelerates to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, but Convertible takes 6.2 seconds. Hatchbacks have reached high speeds of 155 mph, while the convertibles can accelerate up to 152 mph.

The two share a special look of performance that is underscored by the ample octagonal front grille in glossy black, red-accented air intakes. There’s only one exhaust pipe at the rear; two models are available, with 17- and 18-inch sporty wheels options. Racing stripes, brake calipers, and JCW logos do even more to feature the look.

Inside, the JCW variants follow the theme of bold color in black synthetic leather sports seats featuring red stitching and checkered flag inspiration on the dashboard. Once more, the standard for both versions is a Harman/Kardon premium sound system.

The soft top folds down in just 18 seconds and can be stowed at up to 18.6 mph; no convertible can claim this, naturally. Buyers can have the soft top in either black or gray and may add an optional Union Jack graphic.

That also shows in the pricing, as the JCW Hatchback starts at $39,195 and the Convertible at $44,695. Those will start hitting U.S. dealers starting January 2025. Mini’s JCW range is always a benchmark of how performance hardware and premium design elements really make the difference between the bare-bones alternative.
