The Digital Chamber, a top blockchain and digital assets advocacy group, has announced Cody Carbone, who is presently President, as the incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO) starting April 2025. The decision is consistent with the proactive nature of the organization in setting blockchain policy direction in Washington, D.C.
Leadership Transition Details
Founder and now CEO, Perianne Boring, will assume the role of Chair of the Board of Directors. From this position, she will maintain input on the long-term policy direction and strategic vision of the organization. Speaking on Carbone’s leadership capabilities, Boring stated, “Cody has been an exceptional leader in Washington, and I have complete faith in his potential to propel The Digital Chamber into its next iteration.
Cody Carbone’s History and Vision
Prior to coming to The Digital Chamber, Carbone worked for six years in the public policy office at Ernst & Young (EY), where he directed federal government relations and advocacy regarding financial services and technology matters. In addition, he worked as legislative staff in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate directly for his home state Representative Leonard Lance of New Jersey.
Carbone graduated with a Juris Doctorate (JD) and Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from Syracuse University, having served as President of the Student Bar Association. He also graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Cortland, where he played on the varsity men’s soccer team. He is a member of the New York State Bar and now lives in Washington, D.C.
When appointed, Carbone said, “I am thrilled to assume this position at such a crucial time for our industry. The Digital Chamber has been the go-to voice on digital assets in Washington, and with pro-crypto momentum on the rise, our efforts are more essential than ever.”
Strategic Shift in Advocacy
This change of leadership comes at a critical juncture for the digital asset industry. Under the crypto-friendly leadership of the White House and Congress, The Digital Chamber is moving on from its traditional defense posture towards a forward-oriented approach to sealing America’s status as the lead nation in blockchain innovation. Boring said, “For the first time, we have a government that sees the strategic value of digital assets. Now is the time to move policy forward, spur adoption, and act on the vision we’ve been advocating for the last decade.”
