Actor Paul Walter Hauser, who has been contracted by Marvel’s new film The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” is still packed with confidence about the film’s ability to reboot the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). During a recent interview, Hauser indicated that the film will “go down in history” since it will resurrect the MCU, likening it to the game-changing impact “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Black Panther” had.
Coming to theaters on July 25, 2025, The Fantastic Four: First Steps promises to introduce the super quartet into the MCU for the first time. The cast includes Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, played by Pedro Pascal; Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, played by Vanessa Kirby; Johnny Storm/Human Torch, played by Joseph Quinn; and Ben Grimm/The Thing, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It is produced by Matt Shakman, the producer of WandaVision. It displays a retro-futuristic world from the 1960s to provide a new mode of narration that skips the first storytelling style.
While his exact character has not yet been revealed, Hauser had some words about the importance of the picture in the MCU. As he opened up, “The real importance of The Fantastic Four: First Steps has sufficient similarity to Black Panther”, then conjectured the new Marvel turning point, a style, narrative, and measure opposed to anything that has so far been shown.
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has also hinted at the importance of setting up the Fantastic Four in the MCU, stating the characters were going to be a “big pillar” in the future of the MCU. This is intentional, as Marvel is going to reboot the MCU with familiar and established characters and take the story along to bring back old viewers and build some goodwill with new ones.
As the release date is imminent, the expectation is that “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will have a captivating tale that respects the source comics yet brings a new interpretation. Paul Walter Hauser’s positive contribution to the project gives the expectation that the film can play a significant role in revitalizing the MCU and laying the ground for a new course for its forthcoming endeavors.
