Actor Paul Walter Hauser, who has been contracted by Marvel’s new film “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” is still packed with confidence about the film’s ability to reboot the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). During a recent interview, Hauser indicated that the film will “go down in history” since it will resurrect the MCU, likening it to the game-changing impact “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Black Panther” had.

Pledged to debut on July 25, 2025, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces the iconic superhero quartet into the MCU for the very first time. The actors include some recognizable names, as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic is played by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Directed by Matt Shakman, who had a hand in “WandaVision,” the film is set in a retro-futuristic 1960s world, giving a fresh narrative approach by bypassing the original tale.

Although Hauser’s precise role in the movie has not been revealed, he offered comments regarding the film’s importance in the MCU. He suggested the potential significance of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will be comparable to “Black Panther” and theorized that it could be a transformative moment for Marvel, bringing in a different style, story, and scope than anything presented before.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has also indicated the significance of establishing the Fantastic Four in the MCU, saying the characters promised to be a “big pillar” in the future of the MCU. This is deliberate, as Marvel is planning to reboot the MCU with characters that are familiar and established, bringing along story to attract returning viewers and developing some goodwill with new audiences.

As the release date is imminent, the expectation is that “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will have a captivating tale that respects the source comics yet brings a new interpretation. Paul Walter Hauser’s positive contribution to the project gives the expectation that the film can play a significant role in revitalizing the MCU and laying the ground for a new course for its forthcoming endeavors.
